Whether you’re a chef, producer, or event organiser, this page will guide you through the process of joining the 2027 festival and becoming part of the Bay of Plenty’s ever-growing food story.
Next year’s festival theme, “Kiwiana Reimagined”, is about celebrating the flavours, traditions and local ingredients that make Aotearoa unique, with a Coastal Bay of Plenty twist.
In 2027, we’re celebrating the flavours, traditions and stories that make New Zealand unique. From iconic Kiwi classics reimagined to regional specialties and local produce, this year’s festival invites chefs, growers and producers to put their own spin on modern Kiwiana.
We encourage event partners to celebrate Aotearoa through a Coastal Bay of Plenty lens — whether that’s heroing seasonal ingredients, honouring food traditions, collaborating with local producers, or giving beloved Kiwi favourites a fresh twist.
You’ll have access to our marketing reach and our marketing team will gear you up with our festival toolkit.
The festival team is there to support you every step of the way.
Strong local and national media coverage across print, online, radio and podcasts.
The festival team will manage all aspects of ticketing and you’ll be given your own access to a dashboard to track ticket sales.
This is your opportunity to get creative and test out new event ideas for your business while also getting the support and backing of the festival brand.
Join an established, award-winning festival that continues to grow and attract food lovers from across the region and beyond.

Before submitting your event, make sure to think about the following:
Your event must be unique to the Flavours of Plenty Festival. It shouldn’t be something you already offer. If adapting an existing experience, add elements that tie into the festival theme and highlight local produce.
We’ve learnt that customers love to have any experiential element to foodie events, whether it be getting hands-on, incorporating storytelling, meeting the maker, and so on.
How will your event embody the festival theme “Kiwiana”? See Festival Theme.
Before submitting your event, please make sure you have the following:
Give your event a punchy name that will draw attention to potential ticket buyers!
Dates must be between 11 and 21 March 2027. We'll do our best to accommodate your preferred date.
We will also need to know what’s included in the ticket price, as well as a correct bank account for depositing ticket funds into.
As part of your participation in the Flavours of Plenty Festival, a 7.5% fee per ticket will be deducted to cover ticketing and marketing costs. This is not for profit but will go towards promoting, supporting and sustaining the festival. Please factor this fee into your advertised ticket price.
Calculations should include the 7.5% fee that will support festival. This fee will be deducted from your final ticket take so therefore please consider this when you price your festival event.
The platform adds a standard booking fee, as they have always done. This fee is added on top and directed to the customer to pay at the time of purchase. This does not affect your calculations.
The customer will see two costs - your event ticket price (which encompasses the 7.5%) and the platform booking fee, which they pay directly.
Not-for-profit or free events: There will be no charge for events that don’t make a profit (community markets, free workshops, fundraising events).
Festival Ticket Allocation: We ask that each event allocate two tickets for festival use which may be used for promotional giveaways, media famils, or sponsor hosting.
